Core Team

Martin Stauber
Co-founder, CEO
Martin has been working in the field of micro-computed tomography for more than 15 years. After his graduation, he was research fellow and lecturer at ETH Zürich. In 2008 he cofounded the ETH spin-off company b-cube AG, which he led as CEO until it was sold to Scanco Medical AG in 2012. With this successful merger, he took over a position as senior scientist at Scanco Medical AG.

Simon Spindler
Manager R&D
HW Development
Simon graduated in biomedical engineering at ETH Zürich in 2025. He developed a novel imaging modality for early detection of structural lung damage using X-ray dark-field imaging. After his graduation, he joined our team to take over the hardware development of the new breastCT.

Stefano van Gogh
Manager QA & RA
SW Development
Stefano graduated in biomedical engineering at ETH Zürich in 2023, where he was developing new CT reconstruction algorithms combining deep learning-based regularization with physics-based tomographic modelling. After his graduation, he accepted a machine learning researcher position at the Swiss AI Lab to further improve his AI skills. He joined GratXray in 2024.

Lucia Romano
Advisor
Lucia is a Senior Research Scientist at PSI in Villigen, Switzerland. She was professor of nanotechnology at Univ. Catania, Italy, before joining ETH Zürich as a scientist. As an internationally recognized expert in metal assisted chemical etching, she supports our R&D team with her microfabrication expertise. She is hired at PSI and serves as an advisor to GratXray since 2022.
